View Porn on Utah Transit Agency’s Free Wi-Fi, Get Fined $300

SALT LAKE CITY — In what may be a first, the Utah Transit Authority recently OK’d an ordinance that will fine passengers if they watch porn while they use its free Wi-Fi.

The fine for the first violation will be $300 and subsequent fines can add up to $500.

Passengers on FrontRunner trains and express buses must be 18 or older to use the transit agency’s free Internet service. Those who use it agree to terms and conditions.

UTA officials say enforcement would be done by a transit police officer, who would issue the citation on the spot.
