Google Adds Search Page for Real-time Posts
Google's latest rollout pulls messages posted by users of the sites and continuously updates the news feed, which could included new sites, movies or product launches.
Real-time data and search could develop into a billion-dollar market, some say. For instance Google's new offering could mean more ways to selling advertisements on the real-time search page or possibly within search results themselves.
With Google Realtime Search, typing in the term XBIZ resulted in a slew of real-time Tweets about XBIZ articles, XBIZ.net conversations and other adult biz announcements.
A helpful timeline at the top of the page allows surfers to follow real-time updates into the past, in minute-by-minute increments.
Tweets are organized from oldest to newest, helping users trace a Twitter conversation to its source. Other tools include the ability to narrow a search by geography.
And to the delight of many, subscribers to Google Alerts now have the option to receive updates on a particular search topic.
