Breasts, Penises Go 3D With Taschen Books
"Unlike other 3D pictures you may have seen, the photos do not look distorted when viewed without the glasses," Taschen officials say.
Jon Schnitzer's The Brain Factory, the 3D company best known for working with Tim Burton, was responsible for the books' technology.
Taschen officials say: "The Brain Factory’s technique is so subtle it’s hard to even detect the red/blue tint in many of the black and white photos, but when you put on your glasses the parts of interest leap from the page, not in flat layers as in old-style 3D, but as thick, fully rounded, touchable contours."
The books' author, Dian Hanson, has been Taschen's "sexy book editor" since 2001. Her other books for Taschen include "Vanessa del Rio: 50 Years of Slightly Slutty Behavior," "Tom of Finland XXL" and "The Big Butt Book."
The hardcover books are 220 pages a piece and include a pair of red/blue anaglyph glasses.
Last week, Taschen had a release party for "The Big Penis Book in 3D" with Channel 1 Releasing's Chi Chi LaRue emceeing from the Beverly Hills store's upper balcony.
