TMZ: Paris Hilton's Comments About '1 Night' Aren't Sincere
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Paris Hilton says it was the "most embarrassing, humiliating" thing that ever happened to her when a sex tape between she and then-boyfriend Rick Solomon surfaced.
That comment among other eyebrow-raising ones will be heard tonight on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," where Hilton along with her mother, Kathy, discuss her mainstream career and impromptu adult entertainment career in the sex tape "1 Night in Paris."
"This is not what I planned," said Hilton about the sex tape "1 Night in Paris." "I didn't want to be known as that. And now when people look at me they think that I'm something I'm not, just because of one incident, one night with someone who I was in love with.
"People assume, 'Oh, she's a slut,' just because of one thing that happened to me, and it's hard because I'll have to live with that the rest of my life and explain it to my children," she said.
"It's something that's changed my life forever and I'll never be able to erase it."
But TMZ's Harvey Levin, along with his staff, say those lines from the Hilton heiress/party girl/reality star aren't so sincere because "1 Night in Paris," released by Red Light District on DVD and online by XPays, generated up to $30 million in the first year by selling 1 million copies — split 50/50 between she and Solomon.
"Let me put this in to context — Rick Solomon was $5 million in debt with the IRS when ['1 Night in Paris'] came out," Levin said. "Rick Solomon the next year bought a house for $4.3 million; he disclosed he made $10 million that year."
According to TMZ, Hilton, after signing off on a distribution deal, also made between $10 million to $15 million the first year that "1 Night in Paris" was distributed — not to mention that her career catapulted after the tape was released.
"She actually did reshoots for it once she signed off on ['1 Night in Paris'], because they had to adjust the lighting," Levin said. "It wasn't just filmed in one place; it was reshot [at three different locations]."
Hilton and her mother will be guests tonight on " CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and 12 p.m.
