Girlfriends Films Creates 2012 Calendar
LOS ANGELES — Girlfriends Films has created its first wall calendar, a collector's edition for 2012 that features photos of several of the top lesbian performers in the industry.
The 15-month calendar showcases photos that were shot on the set of Girlfriends Films' popular series such as “Women Seeking Women,” “Mother Daughter Exchange Club” and “Pin-Up Girls."
"Shooting such beautiful women had given us the impetus to produce a wall calendar for the past several years. However, there were always other projects in front of it," explained Girlfriends Films president Dan O'Connell. "But we promised ourselves that we’d do it for 2012 and we did it!"
O'Connell told XBIZ the calendar is "built custom, from the ground up."
"It is not a template-based calendar such you might get at your tire store or pharmacy," O'Connell continued. "We’ve designed the calendar to be interesting, classy and tasteful. However, there is nudity, feminine undies and lesbian sex depicted — somewhere around 100 photos in total. So, this not a calendar that you’ll hang where the little ones play. It runs 15 months, from this November thru January 2013. The photos show a variety of Girlfriends Films stars in a variety of settings.
"We are selling it to stores and distributors, as well as online at www.girlfriendsfilms.com."
Girlfriends Films contract stars Prinzzess and India Summer appear, along with several of the company's fan favorite performers such as Elexis Monroe, Faye Reagan, Bobbi Starr, Tara Lynn Foxx, April O’Neil, Raylene, Sara Stone, RayVeness, Jelena Jensen and more.
The calendar also includes box cover images of several of the company's movies.
"We realize now more than ever it is important to come up with new and interesting ways to engage consumers," said Girlfriends Films VP Moose, who noted the calendar project took almost six months to complete.
"The thousands of members on our forum are already buzzing about the calendars, eager to purchase them."
The calendar starts in November 2011 and goes through January 2013.
