LOS ANGELES — Members of the adult production community in Budapest, Hungary, one of the hubs of porn shooting in Europe, plan to meet today to decide how long they will continue to have a moratorium on filming while they take steps to control a syphilis outbreak.

Eszter of Brill Babes, one of the main talent agencies in Budapest, told XBIZ that currently all productions are on hold until Aug. 21. At post time there were 16 models in Budapest known to be infected.

"Nobody shoots at all except the solos," Eszter said. "With 16 infected models who worked absolutely with everyone here, we don’t know who can work in the future, who stays clear and who is positive yet."

She said that performers in Budapest are in the process of being tested or re-tested for the infection.

"There is a special method which shows immediately the result," Eszter said. "There are three different exams from the blood only for syphillis."

She said the infection may be transmitted "with even a kiss."
