Season 2 of 'The Right Hand' Premieres Oct. 5
LOS ANGELES — The late-night comedic documentary series "The Right Hand" will return this Fall on cable TV in Canada, with more antics from adult film producer Porno Dan Leal and his right-hand-man.
The second season of "The Right Hand" premieres Thursday, Oct. 4 at midnight MT on Movie Central (Western Canada) and on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 p.m. ET on The Movie Network’s MExcess multiplex channel (Eastern Canada).
“I’m extremely happy with the way Season Two turned out. I think it’s way better than Season One,” Leal told XBIZ. “Ash Hollywood, Britney Amber and Rikki Sixx all did a fantastic job and I think the fans are really going to like them.”
Season One saw Leal, the CEO of Immoral Productions, hire good-natured Canadian film student Brandon MacIntosh as his production assistant. With no experience in the industry, MacIntosh was quickly thrown out of his element and into the adult film world. In the Season One finale, Leal asked MacIntosh if he wanted to stay on, but MacIntosh’s answer was not revealed.
The Season Two premiere will make known MacIntosh’s answer, as the episode follows the production assistant into one of the major industry trade shows.
The Right Hand’s second season documents the ventures of the production assistant as he accompanies Leal to the Adult Entertainment Expo, on a trip to Prague, through a legal battle, and into Leal’s family life. The show documents the drama and regular lives of Leal, his starlets, and the production assistant.
Season Two of "The Right Hand" consists of 10 30-minute episodes. Supporting characters include Immoral Productions contract star Rikki Six, regulars Britney Amber and Ash Hollywood, and Leal’s sister, Kristen. "The Right Hand" was created by executive producer Richard Arnold and Matt Austin Sadowski. Season Two is directed by Sadowski, with guest direction from Kai Soremekun.
“This show has been all fun since day one, and in Season Two the fun continues,” Arnold said.
Leal said there would be several familiar faces returning from Season One, including performer/directors Ralph Long and Travis Varjak. In addition, Season Two will include new episodes involving Leal’s mother, his sister, brother-in-law and nephew.
Leal says he’s gotten used to the cameras following his every move.
“It’s been two years now and I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with it and I actually like it now. It took a while getting used to,” he said, noting he received incredible viewer feedback from the first season. “I had amazing response from people hitting me up off on Facebook and Twitter. And when I went to Canada people came up and recognized me at bars and stores. They wanted pictures with me. They knew me from being on TV not from porn.”
Leal continued, “I really want to thank everybody from Canada for supporting the show. I’m really thankful for this opportunity. I also want to thank HBO Canada and I hope Season Two does as well as Season One so we can be back for a Season Three.”
The first season is currently available on TMN On Demand and Movie Central on Demand. Right Hand Productions is based in Toronto.
