Penny Pax, Seth Gamble Land Leads in Axel Braun's 'Grease XXX'
LOS ANGELES — Adult performers Penny Pax and Seth Gamble have landed the principal roles in director Axel Braun's upcoming parody of the classic musical "Grease" that will be distributed by Adam & Eve Pictures.
Pax will be Sandy, the role made famous by Olivia Newton-John, while Gamble will be Danny, who was played by John Travolta in the original 1978 film.
Both performers emerged with the roles after auditioning for Braun at an open casting call on Oct. 9.
"I have a strong emotional attachment to 'Grease,' and I want to make this the best parody that I possibly can," Braun explained. "In order to do that I needed to assemble a cast that is as dedicated and compelling as it is cohesive, and that's never an easy task. For the role of Sandy I needed somebody who not only could sing, but could also project the genuine innocence of the character throughout the movie, as well as a believable transformation into the vixen that she becomes at the end. I auditioned 16 different girls for the role of Sandy. Most of them were pretty decent, some were truly excellent...Penny Pax was simply outstanding."
Braun continued, "The challenge with the role of Danny Zuko was to find an actor who could bring more than one dimension to the role. Danny is cocky and cool on the outside, but he's really a sweet guy at heart, and being able to sell this duality without turning it into a mockery required somebody with some serious acting chops. Thankfully, I didn't have to look too far... Seth Gamble, who did amazing job as Luke Skywalker in my 'Star Wars XXX,' was an obvious choice. I actually think I told him he'd be playing Danny two years ago. I call that proactive casting."
