Camarillo Extends Moratorium on Porn Shoots

CAMARILLO, Calif. — The Camarillo City Council voted on Wednesday to extend the moratorium on the production of porn films in its city limits to mid-March of next year.

Camarillo instituted the moratorium after it received a sharp increase in adult film permit requests following the passage of Measure B, The Ventura County Star reported.

Measure B is a voter initiative that requires barrier protection in all porn films produced in Los Angeles County.

Production companies located in the San Fernando Valley, the place where most adult films are shot, began scouting for nearby cities to produce porn without condoms when the law passed.

Adjacent Ventura County approved a similar measure for unincorporated areas on Wednesday, similarly requiring porn actors to wear condoms during filming.

Simi Valley, which like Camarillo is located in Ventura County, also has a similar mandate.

A state bill requiring porn actors to wear condoms is pending in the Legislature.
