Larry Flynt Appearing as Cinefamily's 'Show & Tell' Guest Aug. 12
LOS ANGELES — At 71, you’d think Larry Flynt would be long past the old schoolhouse rouse of Show & Tell.
But at Cinefamily, leading actualizers of far-fetched media “what ifs,” the free speech icon and Hustler founder is making an in-the-flesh visit to the L.A. venue next Tuesday to curate his personal collection of rare TV clips, interviews, documentary excerpts and ephemera.
According to Cinefamily, its ongoing “Show & Tell” series invites artists, filmmakers, musicians and other cultural icons “to divulge their deepest, darkest media obsessions — via opening their closets, digging in their attic and plundering their garages,” to hand-pick viewing material of their choice for a one-time only screening.
“Rarely do we come across a ‘Show & Tell’ guest who has at their disposal such a wealth of archival material covering their entire career — which is why we’re over the moon to present our latest guest: Hustler magnate Larry Flynt,” the event description says. “In both his tireless fights against the free-speech-hating bozos of the world, and in his groundbreaking endeavours across 40 years’ worth of publishing, Larry’s kicked butt, taken names and documented pretty much every single step along the way.”
The event — a bargain at $15 a ticket — will take place on Aug. 12 at 7:30. Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre is located on 611 N. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles 90036.
