Playboy Enterprises Wins Playboy.london Cybersquatting Case

Feb 2, 2015 12:12 PM PST

LONDON — Playboy Enterprises was victorious in its cybersquatting claim against real estate exec Michael Ross, who scooped up the domain name Playboy.london when it became available two years ago.

Ross, the director of London-based realty firm CNM Estates, grabbed the gTLD when .london domains launched in 2013.

Last year, Playboy lawyers fired off a letter to Ross, claiming Playboy.london infringes on its trademark and that it would begin legal action if he didn’t hand over the domain to the iconic brand.

But Ross was resolute, and at the time said he was a “London-based playboy with every right to use the domain.”

But on Jan. 21, according to WIPO UDRP records, the domain Playboy.london was transferred to Playboy Enterprises International Inc.

At post time, the administrative panel decision was not made available for review.
