'Debbie Does Dallas' Showcased on NFL Networks' 'The Timeline'
LAS VEGAS — Iconic adult film "Debbie Does Dallas" received a prominent mention on the new NFL Network show "The Timeline: A Tale of Two Cities."
The notorious VCX movie from 1978 stars porn legend Bambi Woods as an aspiring cheerleader for the “Texas Cowgirls,” based on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Woods, who ended up trying out for a spot on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad, was cut during auditions.
Narrated by Academy-Award nominee Jeremy Renner and actor Sam Elliott, "The Timeline: A Tale of Two Cities" presents an in-depth look at the rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers throughout the years.
Saturday Night Live veteran Rob Schneider summed up the phenomena of "Debbie Does Dallas."
“They talk about America’s team and all the beautiful cheerleaders and stuff, but no one ever talked about the 49ers cheerleaders," said Schneider. "No offense 49ers cheerleaders, but nobody ever made a porno about the 49ers cheerleaders.”
So Cal Licensing’s Wendy Crawford negotiated the spot on the NFL Network. VCX films was also featured on the Showtime Network show “Dave’s Old Porn,” starring comedian Dave Attell.
“'Debbie Does Dallas' is one of the 3 most successful adult films ever released and is regarded as one of the most important releases during the Golden Age of Porn," said Adult Source Media’s sales director. "The film has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and continues to be one of the top selling movies in the business year after year, and is the reason why VCX is known throughout the world as the Home of the Classics.”
Adult Source Media distributes "Debbie Does Dallas," as well as more than 400 classic films from the 70s and 80s.
